Marion E. Vander Sande, age 89, a Manitowoc resident, entered eternal life on Wednesday, May 3, 2017 at the Aurora Medical Center, Two Rivers.

Marion was born on February 23, 1928 in the town of Manitowoc, Manitowoc County. She was the daughter of the late Charles and Irene Wehausen Roedig. She attended the Manitowoc Public School system. She had been employed in the printing department at Mirro Aluminum. On June 2, 1951 she married Roger E. Vander Sande at St. John's United Church of Christ in Manitowoc. He preceded her in death on October 29, 2014. Marion was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ.

She is survived by three brothers: Charles (Geneva) Roedig, Crivitz; Robert Roedig, Francis Creek; Daniel (Rosemary) Roedig, Winter Park, FL; three sisters: Lucille (Elmer) Hartley, TX; Joyce Molendi, Oak Creek; Miss Betsy Roedig, Manitowoc; special friends: Mick and Bonnie Wallander, Newton; nieces , nephews, along with other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents: Charles and Irene Roedig; husband: Roger Vander Sande; and seven sisters: Florence Schultz, Gladys Budyz, Irene Roedig, June Beneventi, Betty Ann Roedig, Grace Maule, and Virginia Combs.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. on Monday, May 8, 2017 at the Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home. Officiating will be Rev. Judine Duerwaechter with burial at Knollwood Cemetery. Relatives and friends may call at the Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home on Monday from 10 a.m. until the time of services at 11 a.m. Following the services at the funeral home there will be a luncheon for relatives and friends at the Harrigan Parkside Gathering Center located on the south property of the funeral home.
