Mark Milton Becker, age 77, a Manitowoc resident, entered eternal life Thursday, April 28, 2016 surrounded by his loving family at his residence.
Mark was born on June 9, 1938 in Two Rivers. He was the son of the late Clarence and Ella Gloe Becker. Mark attended St. Boniface Grade School graduating in 1952 and continued his education at Lincoln High School graduating with the class of 1956. He was self-employed with his brothers at Becker Ornamental for 23 years before retiring in 1970 due to poor health. Mark was in the United States National Guard for four years and was a member of the United States Army Reserve until retiring due to ill health. On November 10, 1956 he married Shirley Ahrens at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Manitowoc. Mark was involved with the Royal Knights Drum and Bugle Corps, Sacred Heart Athletic Club, Cub Scouts and Webelos leader, and helped coach Paul's Spur Jets loving every minute of it. Mark loved participating in the annual "Becker Open" family reunion golf outting driving the golf cart and enjoying every moment.
He is survived by his wife and love of his life of 59 years: Shirley; four sons: Mark Becker, Chris (Sue) Becker, Joe (Kim) Becker, and Randy Becker; ten grandchildren: Jennie (Mark) Herzfeldt, Andrew Becker (Rachel), Josh Becker (Sondra), Christopher Roebuck, Stephany (Shawn) Mangan, Liz (Matt) O'Brien, Jessica (Mike) Haasch, Jordan Becker (Angie), Austin Becker, and Colton Becker; six great grandchildren with two more on the way; two sisters: his twin, Mary Pozorski and Louise Leindecker; two brothers: Howard (Nellie) Becker and Bob (Toni) Becker; two sisters-in-law: Pat Becker and Doris Ahrens; one brother-in-law: Ron (Cindy) Ahrens; nieces, nephews along with other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents: Clarence and Ella Becker; baby daughter: Lisa Ann; three brothers and one sister-in-law: Clarence Becker, Jr., John Becker, August and Darlene Becker; special family: Francis and Elda Miller; three brothers-in-law: James Pozorski, John Leindecker, and Walter Ahrens, Jr.
Funeral services will be held 7 p.m. Sunday, May 1, 2016 at the Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home. Officiating will be Deacon Alan Boeldt. Entombment will take place at Knollwood Mausoleum on Monday, May 2, 2016 at 1:30 p.m. with everyone welcome to attend.
