Obituary

Martha Gindt, age 80, a resident of Manitowoc, and formerly of Rock Springs, WY, passed away peacefully at home with family by her side on Wednesday, September 27, 2023.

Martha was born on July 22, 1943 in Walsenburg, CO to the late Antonio and Lucia (Vigil) Trujillo.  She graduated from Green River High School in Green River, WY with the class of 1961.  On June 24, 1961, Martha married Federico Gomez in Green River, WY.  He preceded her in death on April 28, 1964.  On June 9, 1965, Martha remarried to Daniel Mellon in Gunnison, CO.  He preceded her in death on October 26, 1973.  She was a member of the Two Rivers Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses.  Martha was a very special lady known for her love and caring for others.  She was passionate about her cooking.  In her younger years, she loved fishing, hunting, camping, and many other outdoor activities.  Martha lived in Wyoming until 1981 and then moved to Wisconsin.  She was a dedicated Christian and her lifestyle reflected that.  Her beautiful smile warmed the hearts of all who knew her.

Survivors include Matha's five children, Fred (Kimberlie) Gomez, Sr., Casper, WY; Leanne (Chris) Swetlik, Manitowoc, WI; Micheal (Debra) Mellon, Casper, WY; Michael (Tracy) Baker, Rock Springs, WY; and Rena (Derek) Overly, Green Bay, WI; 22 grandchildren, Jacob (Nicole) Gomez, Franklin Gomez, Samuel Gomez, Jesica Gomez, Kerina (Brandon) Campbell, Fred Gomez Jr., Devon Webster, Alex Webster, Adrienne Webster, Andrew (Shalee) Swetlik, Alex (Natasha) Swetlik, Nathaniel (Ariel) Mellon, Kameron Mellon, Jacqueline Lorenz, Francine Lorenz, Cody Baker, Cheyenne Baker, Angela Koch, Brandy Behnke, Eli Gammicchia, Luke Overly and Sawyer Overly; 37 great grandchildren; seven siblings, Marina Cox, Tony (Lillian) Trujillo Sr., Edward (Penny) Trujillo, Lucille Murphy and her fiancé,  Craig Nielsen, Margaret (Jim) Reed, Bertha Flannigan, and Bonnie (Donnie) Winner; also nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.  Martha was preceded in death by her son, Gary Gomez; daughter-in-law, Toni Gomez; four brothers, Robert Trujillo, Willie Trujillo, David Trujillo, and Frankie Trujillo; two grandchildren, Nicholas Mellon and Keilah Mellon; and great grandson, Elliot Mellon.

Memorial services will be held at 3 p.m. on Saturday, October 7, 2023 at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 4915 Hecker Road, Manitowoc, WI, officiated by Martha's son-in-law, Chris Swetlik.  Cremation has taken place at the Harrigan Parkside Crematory and Chapel.  The family will greet relatives and friends at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses on Saturday from 1 p.m. until the time of the memorial service at 3 p.m.  Online condolences may be sent to the family by visiting www.harriganparksidefuneralhome.com
