Martin F. Severson, age 90, a resident of Manitowoc, entered eternal life on Wednesday, January 25, 2017 at Felician Village in Manitowoc.

Marty was born on October 30, 1926 in Fond du Lac to the late Erwin and Gwendolyn Josephs Severson. He graduated from Lincoln High School with the class of 1944. In August of 1944, Martin enlisted in the United States Navy and served his country until his honorable discharge in 1946. Upon returning to Manitowoc, Marty was employed as an electrician serving his apprenticeship under his father Erwin "Sparky" and then worked for him at Severson Electric until his retirement in 1989. On September 4, 1948, Marty married Doris Klinkner in Manitowoc. She preceded him in death on July 30, 1989. Marty later married Edith Denk on November 23, 1990 in Manitowoc. She preceded him in death on October 10, 2005. Marty was a member of IBEW Electrical Union #158, Meadow Links Golf Association, Eagles Airie #706, American Legion Drews Bleser Post 88, and St. Francis of Assisi Parish.

Survivors include Marty's three sons, Thomas (Suzanne) Severson, Manitowoc; Gary (Heidi) Severson, Edgewood, KY; and Rob (Annette) Severson, Oconomowoc; 12 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; brother, Fred Severson, Sheboygan; also other relatives and friends. Marty was preceded in death by his parents, first wife Doris, second wife Edith, brother, Clyde, and his beautiful daughter Judy.

Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, January 30, 2017 at the Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home. Deacon Alan Boeldt will officiate with burial to take place at Evergreen Cemetery. Cremation has taken place at the Harrigan Parkside Crematory and Chapel. Following the memorial service, a luncheon will be held at the Harrigan Parkside Gathering Center located on the south property of the funeral home.
