Ginny was born on November 27, 1923 in Eaton, OH to the late William and Jess Schlientz.  Ginny's mother Jess passed away before Ginny's fifth birthday. She then went to live with her mother's brother and wife Floyd and Nannie McConaughey of Norwood, OH.

Ginny was educated in the Norwood school district, graduating in 1941. She graduated from Business College, continuing her education at Miami University of Oxford, OH, University of Cincinnati, Cincinnati Business College, Sandhills religious studies, Southern Pines, NC.

In the summer of 1942, she started to date John Langhout, a former classmate at Norwood. John had enlisted in the Navy and was finishing his officers training in Chicago. He was commissioned a Lieutenant and assigned to a mine sweeper in New London, CT. Ginny and John were married in June 1945 and as a war bride, Ginny followed him to different assignments until he was discharged. John then joined the paper industry which entailed many moves across the United States. Ginny and John were blessed with three sons.

Ginny's abiding faith sustained her through many happy times and troubled times in her life. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Manitowoc, WI.

She had many interests and was able to take advantage of opportunities in each area they lived. A lifelong love of cooking, mostly Southern and French, would always be an excuse for a party. She was an avid reader, loved music, her gardening and her birds. Ginny held many offices in the many clubs and service leagues to which she belonged. Always at her side were one or two standard poodles she dearly loved.
