Mary Jane "Jane" Janssen, age 83, a resident of Manitowoc, entered eternal life on Tuesday, September 28, 2021 at the Manitowoc Health and Rehabilitation Center.

Jane was born on May 2, 1938 in Little Chute.  She was the daughter of the late Peter and Elizabeth Jansen Verhagen.  Jane was a graduate of St. John Catholic High School in Little Chute.  On May 17, 1958 she married Joseph Janssen at St. John's Catholic Church in Little Chute.  In 1966 they moved to Manitowoc.  Jane was employed at Kimberly-Clark Corporation, Manitowoc Public School System, Manitowoc Clinic, and Holy Innocents Catholic Church retiring in 2003.  Jane was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church.  She was very active in the church and her parish.  At heart she was a dedicated mother and homemaker.

She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Joseph, two daughters, Debra (Dale) Minnard, Sheboygan, Barbara (Chuck) Backus, Manitowoc; one son, Tom (Cheryl) Janssen, Cross Plains; eight grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, brother-in-law, Ken Schnese; nieces, nephews, along with other relatives and friends.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Peter and Elizabeth Verhagen, two brothers, and three sisters.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. on Monday, October 4, 2021 at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church on Waldo, 1121 North 14 ^th Street, Manitowoc.  The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Matt Simonar.  Entombment will take place at Calvary Mausoleum in Manitowoc.  Relatives and friends may call at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church on Waldo on Monday from 10 a.m. until the time of services at 11 a.m.  Following the funeral service there will be a luncheon for family and friends at the Harrigan Parkside Gathering Center, 620 North Water Street, Manitowoc, located on the south property of the Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home.
