Obituary

Mary F. Koch, age 89, of 4904 Nicyssa Lane, Manitowoc, entered eternal life on Tuesday evening, November 9, 2010 at her residence with her family by her side.

Mary was born May 16, 1921 in Rockhampton, Australia. She was the daughter of the late Michael J. and Mary F. Crannage Keating. Mary was a graduate of All Hallows Catholic High School, Brisbane, Australia. She then continued her education attending a business college and became employed by GAFLAC Insurance Company as a bookkeeper. In 1946 she moved to Manitowoc. Mary had been employed with Johnson Hills and Mr. R Clothing Store. On October 28, 1946 she married Harold R. Koch at St. Boniface Catholic Church, Manitowoc with Rev. Alfred Pritzl presiding. He preceded her in death on March 20, 1996. She was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church and the War Bride Club.

She is survived by four children: Gary (Linda) Koch, Portage, MI; Dale (Sandra) Koch, Two Rivers, WI; Kevin Koch, Delmar, CA; Neil Koch and special friend Becky Strohm, Manitowoc; three brothers: Michael (Margaret) Keating, Australia; John (Judy) Keating, Australia; Patrick (Bette) Keating, Australia; two sisters: Joan (Jim) O'Brien, Australia; Catherine McGrath, Australia; six grandchildren: Nina (Craig) Asunto, Berkley, MI; Andrea Koch, Portage, MI; Sarah (Geoff) Smith, CO; Alysia (Shawn) Noworatsky, CA; Gretchen (Jason) Bratz, CO; David Koch and special friend Shelly, CO; two great grandchildren: Kaelin Smith and Graham Smith; three sisters-in-law: Joan Keating, Australia; Geraldine (Richard) Boucher, San Jose, CA; Audrey Koch, Manitowoc, WI; many nieces, nephews along with other relatives and friends both in Australia and the United States. She was preceded in death by her parents: Michael and Mary Keating; her husband: Harold R. Koch; 3 brothers: James Keating, Robert Keating, Thomas (Thelma) Keating; two sisters: Josephine (Ivan) Allen; Patricia (Leo) O'Driscoll; two brothers-in-law: Leon McGrath; Leonard Koch.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 am on Saturday, November 13,2010 at St. Francis of Assisi on Waldo. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Daniel Felton. Entombment will follow at Calvary Mausoleum, Manitowoc. Relatives and friends may call at the Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home on Friday, November 12, 2010 from 5:00 to 7:00 pm at which time a prayer service lead by Deacon Paul Kieffer will conclude the visitation. The visitation will continue at Saturday at St. Francis of Assisi on Waldo from 10:00 am until the time of services at 11:00 am.
