Obituary

Mary Margaret Scherer "Peggy," age 82, passed away on February 12, 2021 at the Manitowoc Health and Rehabilitation Center.

Peggy was born on September 22, 1938 and married Robert Kaczmarowski on June 23, 1956. Together they raised six children.

Peggy was baptized as one of Jehovah's Witnesses in 1971. Thus, began her 50 year walk of faith. Although suffering through a myriad of health issues throughout her life, all that knew her, could see that Peggy's faith and service to Jehovah God never wavered. In 1984 Peggy became a Regular Pioneer, one who at that time dedicated 90 hours a month sharing Bible truths with others and in 1985 attended Pioneer Service School, with her daughter Ann, which helped them hone their Bible teaching skills.

A memory that Peggy especially cherished was the opportunity of being a delegate along with her son Bill and his wife Karen, to the Divine Teaching International Convention in Kiev, Ukraine in 1993. There they witnessed 7,402 being baptized in one day. She was also thrilled when her son Bob and his wife Sherry attended the first International Convention held in Russia, St. Petersburg.

Peggy is survived by all her children, Robert (Sherry) Kaczmarowski, William (Karen) Kaczmarowski, Theresa (Leon) Sleger, Ann (Clifton) Sleger, John Kaczmarowski and James Kaczmarowski. Along with her many grandchildren and great grandchildren. She is further survived by her brothers, William, George, and Robert Scherer. Peggy is also survived by her dear friends, Phyllis Wright and Suki Valcarcel.

Peggy was preceded in death by Robert Kaczmarowski, her siblings Ronald, Nancy, Jim, Ken and Dan and her beloved granddaughter Hannah Rose, daughter of Clifton and Ann Sleger.

The family would like to thank all the kind and patient staff at the Manitowoc Health and Rehabilitation Center and the Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice, who cared for Peggy under very trying circumstances along with Covid-19 restrictions.

A very special thank you goes to Leon, Theresa and granddaughter Autumn Sleger, who lived together with Peggy for over 10 years, providing much care and comic relief along with their 2 Chihuahua buddies, Stanley and Stella.

Some of Peggy's last words were, "Tell all my children I love them."
