Mary J. Schultz, age 78, a Manitowoc resident, entered eternal life on Saturday afternoon, April 1, 2017 at her residence with family by her side.
Mary was born November 6, 1938 in Oxford, Wisconsin. She was the daughter of the late Raymond and Ruth Murray Bresnahan Sr. Mary attended Washington High School in Milwaukee and graduated with the class of 1957. After high school Mary was employed with Northwestern Mutual Insurance Company in Milwaukee. She met Gerald Schultz and was married on August 22, 1959 in Milwaukee. He preceded her in death after 53 years of marriage on September 10, 2013. After moving to Manitowoc with her husband and children, Mary continued her education at Lakeshore Technical College. Mary had been employed with Weyerhauser, Kelvinator, and was President of Schultz Accounting and Tax Service in Manitowoc. She enjoyed playing the accordion, bingo, Zumba, and Jazzercise. Mary was a volunteer with Holy Family Hospice and at Peter's Pantry. She loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, and friends. Mary was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church.
She is survived by three children: Scott V. Schultz, Manitowoc; Patty Darling, Hortonville; Pam (Mike) Olson, Bayside; four grandchildren: Tony and Michael Darling; Ellie and Jack Olson; one sister: Marcy (Wesley) Neal, Milwaukee; nieces, nephews along with other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents: Raymond and Ruth Bresnahan Sr.; husband: Gerald Schultz; one sister: Margaret McFarlane; and one brother: Raymond Bresnahan Jr.
Memorial services will be held 11 a.m. on Thursday, April 6, 2017 at the Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home. Officiating will be Rev. Michael Warden. Cremation has taken place at the Harrigan Parkside Crematory and Chapel with burial of her cremated remains to be placed at Evergreen Cemetery next to her husband at a later date. Relatives and friends may call at the Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home on Thursday from 10 a.m. until the time of services at 11 a.m. Following the funeral service there will be a luncheon for family and friends at the Harrigan Parkside Gathering Center located on the south property of the funeral home.
