Mary Lou Schuman, age 69, a resident of Manitowoc, passed away on Wednesday, February 17, 2021 at Manitowoc Health and Rehabilitation.
Mary was born on June 18, 1951 in Manitowoc to the late William and Lorraine (Thor) Hennessey. She graduated from Lincoln High School with the class of 1969. On January 5, 1980, Mary married Greg Schuman at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Manitowoc. She began working as a cook at Park Lawn Nursing Home and then went on to work at Copps Food Center. Mary was also a private babysitter. She enjoyed spending her time camping, being outdoors, attending her grandchildren's sporting events, going on vacation, was an avid Badger and Packers fan, and trips to the casino. Above all, Mary enjoyed being with her family – especially her grandchildren.
Survivors include Mary's husband of 41 years, Greg; two daughters, Lynn Haese, Appleton; Amy (Matt) Petersen, Newton; grandson, Austin Petersen; granddaughter, Emma Petersen; three brothers, Bob (Kris) Hennessey, Joe Hennessey, and Jim (Lisa) Hennessey; two step-sisters, Laurene (Steve) Larsen and Lynette Ebenhoe; sister-in-law, Sue Schuman; grand dog, Bella; also nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Mary was preceded in death by her parents, William and Lorraine Hennessey; and step-mother, Florence Ebenhoe.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, February 23, 2021 at the Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home. Rev. Dave Beaudry will officiate with cremation to take place at the Harrigan Parkside Crematory and Chapel at a later date. Following the funeral service, a reception for family and friends will be held at the Harrigan Parkside Gathering Center located on the south property of the funeral home. The family will greet relatives and friends at the Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home on Tuesday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11 a.m. Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.harriganparksidefuneralhome.com
In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate memorials in Mary's name.
Mary's family would like to extend their thanks to the staffs of Aurora Medical Center in Two Rivers and Manitowoc Health and Rehab for all of the comforting care they provided.
