Mary A. Slattery, age 97, a resident of Manitowoc, and formerly of Munster, IN, passed away on Monday, November 23, 2015 at St. Mary's Home at Felician Village.

Mary was born on February 3, 1918 in Minneapolis, Minnesota to the late Alexander and Louisa Monk Holker. She graduated from North High School with the class of 1935. On January 17, 1942, Mary married Donald Slattery in LaPorte, IN. Mary was a loving wife and a very devoted mother to her daughters. She worked for both dentists and orthodontists and was a member of PEO. In past years she enjoyed cross-country skiing, gardening and she especially enjoyed eating at unique off the beaten path restaurants in Chicago with her husband Don.

Survivors include Mary's two daughters: Jane (Pat) O'Leary, Woodbridge, VA and Ann (Galen) Schleunes, Manitowoc; five grandchildren: Patrick O'Leary, Katie Hitchcock, Andrew Slattery, Michael O'Leary, and Amy Schleunes, seven great grandchildren: Robert, Grace, Gannon, Jameson, Owen, Maxwell and Scarlett; also other relatives and friends. Mary was preceded in death by her husband Don, her sister Grace Keller, and her two brothers David and Donald Holker.

Private family services were held on Wednesday, December 2, 2015 at St. John's United Church of Christ in Manitowoc. Rev. Judine Duerwaechter officiated and burial will take place at the Goodland Cemetery in Goodland, IN at a later date. Online condolences may be sent to www.harriganparksidefuneralhome.com
