Mary Ann Uren passed away peacefully on February 12, 2026, at age 82. Mary Ann was born in Iron Mountain, Michigan on November 17, 1943, to Florence (Pipin) and Edwin Gabrielson. She married Melvin Hoes and they had three children together. Later in life, she married the love of her life, Thomas Uren. She graduated from high school in Iron Mountain and also attended Lakeshore Technical College and received certification to become a child care professional. Mary Ann loved travelling with her husband Tom up north to her mobile home in Florence and also down south to Arkansas, watching sports games, going on bike rides and walks, socializing with her friends over coffee, and most of all spending time with her family – especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Mary Ann is survived by her children Edwin Hoes and Alan (Kay Loveless) Hoes; son-in-law Thomas Berrens; grandchildren Crystal Maratik, Heidi (Tim) Wichmann, Eric (Alicia Day) Hoes, Thomas Loveless, Emily (Brandon Qualman) Loveless, and Jay (Joanna Metz) Aschenbrenner; great-grandchildren Cheyanne, Xepher, Noelle, Logan, Kyler, Kaelin, Madison; great-great-grandchildren Tatum and Colton; sisters Mae and Bonnie; sister-in-law Sue; special friend Wanda; as well as nieces, nephews, other family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents Edwin and Florence, husband Thomas Uren, daughter Sue Ellen Hoes, sister Theresa, and grandson David.

Relatives and friends are invited to join the family for a Life Celebration Social at Harrigan Parkside Gathering Center, 620 N. Water St., Manitowoc, on Sunday, March 1, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
