Mary Lynn Wadman

May 7, 1960 — May 6, 2026

Manitowoc

Mary Lynn (Kalista) Wadman passed away at the age of 65 on May 6, 2026 surrounded by the ones she loved most. Daughter of Darlene (Wachowski) and the late Eugene Kalista, Mary was born May 7, 1960 and was the oldest of six children. Mary lived a life defined by strength, devotion, and love for her children. She graduated from Manitowoc Lincoln High School in June of 1978– a moment made even more meaningful when her youngest daughter, Stephanie, graduated from the same school on the very same date 40 years later.

Mary’s greatest pride and joy were her daughters Alyssa Wadman and Stephanie Watkins, as well as her granddaughters, Ivy and Isabelle. Everything she did in life was driven by her desire to give her daughters the life she believed they deserved and the opportunities that she did not always have herself growing up. She was determined, strong, proud, loving, and deeply devoted to “her girls.”

For over 30 years, Mary worked at Perkins Restaurant & Bakery, where she built lasting relationships with coworkers and customers alike. She especially treasured her regular customers, including her “Tuesday girls,” whose friendship brought her joy throughout the years.

Outside of work and her daughters, Mary found happiness in the simple and meaningful things in life. She loved tending to her garden, watching the birds that visited it, and spending time rummage sale shopping for treasures for her girls.

Mary passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by loved ones, and her faithful canine friend, “Nurse Fiona.” She found comfort in knowing she would be reunited in Heaven with her father, brother, and sister.

Mary and her family would like to express their deepest gratitude to those who surrounded her with love and care during her final days. She was especially grateful for her daughters Alyssa and Stephanie, and Stephanie’s fiance Eric Brey, for everything they have done to care for her these last few months. She would also like to recognize her sister Vickie Kalista, sister-in-law Lynn Kalista, and brother Bill Kalista, for their companionship and assistance over the last few years.

The family would also like to recognize some of Mary’s long time friends: Steve Kohl, for his years of friendship, weekly Wednesday phone calls, and always accompanying her to the doctors, and Mary Schuh for sending daily bits of encouragement and sunshine to brighten her days.

A special and heartfelt thank you is extended to Shayna Abbet of Sharon Richardson Hospice for the compassionate and wonderful care she provided to Mary and her family.

In accordance with Mary’s wishes, no formal services will be held. Condolences may be directed to Alyssa and Stephanie. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Sharon Richardson Hospice in Mary’s name.

The Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home and Crematory, Manitowoc, is assisting the family with arrangements.
