Mattie E. Belgum, age 106, a Manitowoc resident, entered eternal life Monday afternoon, November 5, 2018 at the Manitowoc Health and Rehabilitation Center.

Mattie was born on May 26, 1912 in the town of Carlton, Kewaunee County. She was the daughter of the late William and Barbara Fischer Ray.  Mattie was a graduate of Mishicot High School.  She married Levi Z. Belgum in 1930 in Milwaukee.  He preceded her in death on June 19, 1982.  Mattie was a longtime member of Immanuel Ev. Lutheran Church.

She is survived by her nieces: Bernice Paul, Milwaukee; Arlene Klimesh, Manitowoc; along with other nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews, relatives and friends.  She was preceded in death by her parents:  William and Barbara Ray; husband:  Levi; three brothers:  Elmer, Walter, and William Ray; two sisters:  Eleanor Ray and Anna Stangel.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. on Friday, November 9, 2018 at Immanuel Ev. Lutheran Church, 916 Pine Street, Manitowoc, with Rev. Daniel Sims officiating. Burial will take place at Evergreen Cemetery in Manitowoc.  Relatives and friends may call at Immanuel Ev. Lutheran Church on Friday from 10 a.m. until the time of services at 11 a.m.
