Michael James
Dokey
May 2, 1967 – March 5, 2026
Michael James Dokey, 58, passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones. Michael was born on May 2, 1967, in Manitowoc to James and Bonnie (Jones) Dokey.
Michael attended school in Manitowoc and spent much of his life in the area he proudly called home. On June 8, 2024, he married the love of his life, Tammy Dokey, in Kewaunee. Together they built a life centered on family, laughter, and simple joys.
Michael enjoyed spending his time fishing, playing bingo, and trying his luck gambling. More than anything, he treasured time with his family and the many memories they created together. He also had a special place in his heart for his beloved dogs, Packer and Callie.
Michael is survived by his loving wife, Tammy Dokey; his children Joshua Dokey (Jessica) of Kewaunee and Leann Barnett (Craig) of Manitowoc; his stepsons Justin Miller, Josh Hatcher (Riley), and Preston Maier; and stepdaughter Brooke Hatcher. He was a proud grandfather to John, Leah, Caitie, and Mikey, who brought him great joy.
He is also survived by his sister Janet Bronson (Jeff) of Manitowoc; niece Ashley Howell; nephews Curtis Dokey and James and Zach Howell; and his lifelong friends Craig Wallen and Tony Koppa, along with many extended family members and friends who will miss him dearly.
Michael was preceded in death by his parents, James and Bonnie Dokey; his sister Cathy; his grandparents; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Michael will be remembered for his love of family, his sense of humor, and the good times he shared with those around him. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
A Celebration of Michael's Life will be held at Salute To Everyone, 1107 S 10th St, Manitowoc, on March 12, 2026, at 5pm to 8pm.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are appreciated to the family.
