March 1, 1946 – January 13, 2024
Michael A. Mielczarek, age 77, a resident of Manitowoc, entered eternal life on Saturday, January 13, 2024 at Holy Family Memorial Medical Center.
Mike was born on March 1, 1946 in Aschaffenburg, Germany to the late Matthew and Jozefa (Zarawska) Mielczarek, and then moved to the United States when he was 10 years old. On August 13, 1967, he married Mary Pajak at St. Hyacinth Basilica in Chicago, IL. She preceded him in death on March 17, 1994. Mike enjoyed traveling, woodworking and helping others. He also had a passion for music – playing and listening to music, was a DJ, and very accomplished at karaoke. Mike was always known to be able to make people laugh and put a smile on your face. Above all, he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.
Survivors include his best friend and partner, Sally Farr; three children, Mark (Becky) Mielczarek, Manitowoc; Michelle (Brian) Anderson, Manitowoc; and Matthew Mielczarek, San Diego, CA; five grandchildren, Jordan Anderson, Austin, Alex, Adam, and Ashton Mielczarek; great granddaughter, Reagan Mielczarek; brother, Richard (Billy) Mielczarek, Las Vegas, NV; stepchildren, Russell (Michelle) Farr and Theresa Farr, all of Manitowoc; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law in Poland: Sophie (Henry) Kopec, Janet (Robert) Klimek, and Helen (Joseph) Smolen; also other relatives and friends. Mike was preceded in death by his parents, Matthew and Jozefa Mielczarek; wife, Mary; stepmother, Jaroslava Mielczarek; and stepdaughter, Jennifer Farr.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, January 17, 2024 at the Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home. Deacon Mike Dolezal will officiate with burial to take place at Evergreen Cemetery at a later date. A luncheon for family and friends will then be held at the Harrigan Parkside Gathering Center located on the south property of the Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home. The family will greet relatives and friends at the Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home on Wednesday, January 17, 2024 from 9 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. Online condolences may be sent to the family by visiting www.harriganparksidefuneralhome.com
