Mildred E. Shimek, age 95, of Sheboygan Falls, formerly of Manitowoc, entered eternal life of Sunday, January 17, 2016 at St. Nicholas Hospital in Sheboygan.
Mildred was born on May 31, 1920 in Manitowoc. She was the daughter of the late David and Amanda Schadeberg Melville. Mildred attended Lincoln High School and graduated with the class of 1938. On May 24, 1941 she married Harold Shimek at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Manitowoc. He preceded her in death on May 14, 2004.
She is survived by two sons and one daughter-in-law: Jerome and Kay Shimek; Robert Shimek; one daughter: Yemaya Shimek; one brother and sisters-in-law: Lee and Fay Melville; Mary Lou Sedlacek; seven grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, one great great grandson, nieces, nephews along with other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents: David and Amanda Melville; her husband: Harold Shimek; two brothers: David Melville andEdwin Kummer.
Memorial services will be held 11 a.m. on Wednesday, January 20, 2016 at the Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home. Officiating will be Deacon Alan Boeldt. Burial of the cremains will take place at Calvary Cemetery in Manitowoc. Relatives and friends may call at the Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home on Wednesday from 10 a.m. until the time of the memorial service at 11 a.m. Following the memorial service, a luncheon will be held for relatives and friends at the Harrigan Parkside Gathering Center located on the south property of the funeral home. Cremation has taken place at the Harrigan Parkside Crematory and Chapel.
