Obituary

Myra Bitter Luebke, age 90, of rural Manitowoc, passed away on May 13, 2023 at Laurel Grove. I went to be in the arms of Jesus and join Henry in heaven.

I was born December 1, 1932 to the late Hugo and Laura (Muesegades) Bitter at Johnsonville, Sheboygan County. I was baptized by the Rev. Herman Kuether at my parents' home on December 11, 1932 and confirmed on May 26, 1946 with my special verse being Titus 2:11-12, "For the grace of God has appeared that offers salvation to all people. It teaches us to say "No" to ungodliness and worldly passions and to live self-controlled, upright and godly lives in this present age." On October 11, 1952 Henry Luebke and I were married at St. Paul Lutheran, Howards Grove. Henry was privileged to go to heaven before me on November 22, 2011.

Henry was a farmer and I farmed with him until 1981. I then went to work at DHIA lab. From 1982-2008 I enjoyed working as a tour guide for Lamers Tour and Travel. I have been a member at St. John's Lutheran Church, Newtonburg and of their Ladies Aid. After retirement I enjoyed games and cards.

My survivors are: Son, Gerald (Lynn) Luebke of Sheboygan; daughter, Germaine (Mike) Getter of Manitowoc; daughter, Laura (Dan) Wallander of Menasha; son, Larry of Manitowoc. Grandchildren: Angela (Joe) Williams, Kurt Getter (Angela Taylor), Adam (Stefani) Luebke, Kyle (Jessica) Getter, Malachi (Erica) Wallander, Isaac (Anna) Wallander, Jeremiah (Kelli) Wallander. 9 great grandchildren and another due in August, and 2 great-great grandchildren also survive. My family from Henry's side: Harold & Ann Luebke, Naomi Luebke, Julieanne Luebke.

I was preceded in death by my in-laws, Lester & Linda Luebke; my brothers Milton (Laverne & Wilma), Delbert (Evergene), Norman, Melvin (Janet). Also, Lila (Arland) Vogt, Loretta (Alvin) Kracht, Alfred, Roy, Wayne, and David Luebke; my first great-grandson, Austin Getter; nephews Gary, Gene, Kenneth, William, Frederick Bitter and Jeffrey Vogt; niece Jackie Filipiak.

Thank you to the Laurel Grove Staff, Pastors Martin and Headrick, Dr. Theobald and my card-playing friends. Greet everyone you meet with a smile and share God's love. ~ Myra
