Obituary

Nancy Jean (Braun) Thurow, age 90, passed away shortly before midnight on Friday night, October 15, 2021.  She had been surrounded by her family most of the day at home.

Nancy was born August 9, 1931, in Menasha, growing up and attending school in Neenah, Wisconsin. After working and raising her children near Milwaukee, she retired to Manitowoc in 2000 to be near her daughter Kristin and grandchildren. Her family was everything to her. She loved to care for and support her grandchildren and great grandchildren providing snacks after school and attending their school activities, comforting them with home-made chicken soup and introducing them to tennis, swimming, and skating. She drove to far northern Wisconsin to visit her son, Kelly, with her sister and brother, visiting the casino during their trips.  Nancy traveled extensively with her daughter Kimberly on vacations and to the various places Kimberly lived.

She was known for carrying on the Christmas cookie-baking tradition, delivering tins filled to the brim with dozens of baked delights. Her old-fashioned nature brought handwritten cards, a beautiful garden, and ribbons and bows on every gift. Nancy was always thinking of others and will be missed tremendously by her entire family. See you later alligator…

Nancy is survived by her sister Anita Tittel, her children: Kristin Seguin, Kelly Thurow (Nancy), and Kimberly; grandchildren: Jenny (Jason) Retlich, Josh (Christina) Seguin, Jessica (Nicholas) Gosz, and Tracy (Tony) Trolla; great grandchildren: Caitlin Seguin (Tony), Alec Seguin (Maddie), Mara Seguin, Ian Krcma, Paige Gosz, Gunnar Retlich, and Parker Retlich; great great granddaughter, Layla Grace; many nieces and nephews; and Kimberly's furry companions Sasha, Toby, Mackie, and Bootsie, with whom she lived. She was preceded in death by her parents: Robert and Jeanne Braun; and siblings Wayne Braun, Wesley Braun, and Faye Peterson.

Per Nancy's wishes, private family graveside services will be held at Evergreen Cemetery on Thursday, October 21, 2021 with Deacon Alan Boeldt officiating.  To send online condolences to the family, please visit www.harriganparksidefunearlhome.com
