Obituary

Norbert L. Novak, age 79, a resident of Manitowoc, entered eternal life on Monday, June 11, 2018 at the Manitowoc Health and Rehabilitation Center.

Norbert was born on January 6, 1939 in the town of Cooperstown , Manitowoc County. He was the son of the late John and Marcella Hronek Novak.  Norbert was a graduate of Lincoln High School with the class of 1957.  He entered the United States Army and served his country from 1959 to 1962.  After receiving his honorable discharge Norbert became employed with Mirro Aluminum for over 20 years and then became employed with Foster Needle for over 25 years from where he retired in 2000.  On September 3, 1971 he married Paulette Kurth at Holy Innocents Catholic Church in Manitowoc.  Norbert was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church.  He enjoyed hunting and fishing.

He is survived by his wife of 46 years: Paulette; two sons:  Aaron (Jodi) Novak, Manitowoc; Adam Novak, Manitowoc; one granddaughter:  Addison; one step granddaughter:  Samantha (Cole) Skarvan; one step great grandson:  Atticus; one sister:  Alice Kusch, Vancover, WA; nieces, nephews along with other relatives and friends.  He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Marcella Novak; one brother and sister-in-law: Floyd and Shirley Novak; and one brother-in-law:  Clarence Kusch.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. on Friday, June 15, 2018 at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church on Waldo, 1121 North 14 th Street, Manitowoc.  The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Dave Pleier.  Burial will take place at Evergreen Cemetery in Manitowoc.  Relatives and friends may call at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church on Waldo on Friday from  9 a.m. until the time of services at 11 a.m.  Following the church services there will be a luncheon held at the Harrigan Parkside Gathering Center, 620 North Water Street, located on the south property of the Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home.
