Obituary

Norbert "Norbie" Schuh, age 89, a life-long resident of Valders, entered eternal life on Tuesday, October 18, 2016 at his residence.

Norbie was born on November 10, 1926 in Maple Grove, Manitowoc County. He was the son of the late Joseph and Helen Fischer Schuh. Norbie was a graduate of Valders High School with the class of 1945. On June 5, 1945, he entered the United States Army serving overseas in Italy and France during World War II. After being honorably discharged on November 30, 1946, Norbie returned to the Valders area and was employed with Larson Chevrolet for several years. He then started his own business known as Schuh's Body Shop which he operated for the next 34 years until retiring in 1992. Norbie was active in his community and was a member of the following organizations: Past President of the Valders Lions Club, Past Commander of the American Legion Post #28 in Valders, Past Assistant Chief of the Valders Fire Department, Past President for the Village of Valders, Past President of Wisconsin Auto Body Association, Past Board of Director for the Wisconsin Automobile Association, past member of Clarks Mills Sportsman's Club, the Valders Improvement Association, member for over 20 years with the Manitowoc Serra Club, long time member of the Knights of Columbus, and member of the Valders Senior Citizens. Norbie was also a long time and active member of his parish at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Clarks Mills where he was Past President of the Holy Name Society and Past Trustee of the church. He also found time to volunteer for 17 ½ years at Holy Family Memorial Medical Center and was an Old Glory Honor Flight attendee.

Norbie is survived by his eight children: Mary L. (Steve) McPherson, Sedona, AZ; Joseph E. Schuh, St. Nazianz; Beth A. (John) Holl, Cambria; Lawrence "Larry" J. (Monique) Schuh, Albuquerque, NM; Barbara J. (Larry) Schuh, Manitowoc; Ann M. (Dennis) Maschino, Valders; Ellen J. (Tracy) Jensen, River Falls; Paula L. Schuh, Albuquerque, NM; eight beautiful grandchildren: Jason, Nic, Katie, Amber, Jenna, Mike, Madeline, and Hannah; five great grandchildren; two brothers: Sebastian (Karen) Schuh, Clarks Mills; Bill (Kathy) Schuh, Valders; two sisters: Veronica Evenson, Valders, and Helen Vraney, Manitowoc; nieces, nephews along with other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents: Joseph and Helen Schuh; two brothers: Nick and Joe Schuh; and two sisters: Georgiana Etringer and Dorothy Schlaikowski.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. on Monday, October 24, 2016, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Clarks Mills. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Richard Klingeisen. Following the funeral service, military rites will be accorded at church. Norbie's family would be honored if you would join them for lunch in the lower level of the school following the services.

Relatives and friends may call at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Clarks Mills on Sunday, October 23, 2016 from 2 p.m. until 5 p.m. The visitation will continue on Monday, October 24, 2016 from 10 a.m. until the time of services at 11 a.m. Cremation will follow at the Harrigan Parkside Crematory and Chapel with burial of Norbie's cremated remains at a later date at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery in Clarks Mills.
