Obituary

Norma A. Krcma, age 89, a Manitowoc resident, peacefully entered into eternal life with her family by her side on Sunday, September 19, 2010 at the Manitowoc Health and Rehabilitation Center.

Norma was born on July 28, 1921 in Port Washington to the late John and Isabelle Watrey Schmit. She graduated from Kiel High School with the class of 1939, and then continued her education at Manitowoc County Normal where she obtained her certificate for teaching. Norma had taught elementary education in Manitowoc schools for many years. During her teaching career, she went back to school attending evening classes at St. Norberts College in Green Bay and finishing her education at Silver Lake College where she obtained her bachelor's degree in education in 1960. On July 20, 1946, Norma married Daniel S. Krcma at St. Anne's Catholic Church in Francis Creek. She enjoyed spending her time fishing, gardening, reading, knitting, camping, and going to their tree farm in Florence County. Norma was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Manitowoc.

Survivors include her husband of 64 years, Daniel; four sons: Gary (Beth) Krcma, Grafton; Bill (Diane) Krcma, Washburn; Robert (Marsha) Krcma, Florence; and Daniel Krcma, Wausau; 9 grandchildren; 2 great granddaughters; one brother: Ray (Marge) Schmit, Francis Creek; two sisters: Alvera (Russell) Wacholz and Rose Holschbach, all of Manitowoc; also nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

The family will greet relatives and friends at the Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home, N. 11th and St. Clair streets, Manitowoc on Wednesday, September 22, 2010 from 5 pm until 8 pm. A prayer service will be led by Deacon Alan Boeldt at 7 pm. The visitation will continue on Thursday at St. Francis of Assisi – Waldo from 9 am until the beginning of the Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am. The Rev. Richard Klingeisen will officiate with burial to follow at Evergreen Cemetery.
