Omen O. Swensen, age 83, a Manitowoc resident, died on Tuesday, February 20, 2012 at Holy Family Memorial Medical Center in Manitowoc.

Omen was born on November 4, 1928 in Manitowoc to the late Ernst and Angeline Swensen. He graduated from Lincoln High School with the class of 1947. Omen then completed his education by obtaining his associates degree in accounting from Manitowoc County Business School in 1949. In 1956, Omen married the former Arlene Slager at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Kellnersville. She preceded him in death in 1971. In 1979, Omen married the former Dorothy Keehan Erickson at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Manitowoc. He was employed at various companies until his retirement from Mirro Corporation. Omen was an avid swimmer, enjoyed skating, wrestling, reading, dancing, loved music, and was a wonderful, loving husband. He was a member of the Boilermaker's Union and St. Francis of Assisi in Manitowoc.

Survivors include his wife of 33 years: Dorothy; one daughter: Gail Milks; six step daughters: Sherryl Garza, Shelley (Steve) Schwartz, Joan Erickson, Patrice (Ken) Vogel, Kelleen Erickson, and Tari (Andy) Miller; one step son: Gerald Erickson; 27 step grandchildren; 24 step great grandchildren; sister: Joan Olsen; also nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents: Ernst and Angeline Swensen; wife: Arlene; and sister: Nadine Eis.
