Pamela McMillan
Eggebrecht
January 19, 1953 – April 10, 2026
Pamela McMillan Eggebrecht, age 73 of Manitowoc, WI passed from her life on earth on April 10, 2026 at home with her loving husband, Thomas, and family by her side.
Pam was born on January 19, 1953 in Chicago, IL to Virginia P. and Robert H. McMilllan. The family moved from the Chicago area to Merrill, WI and later to Wausau, WI where Pam and Tom met in the 8th grade. After moving briefly from Wausau to Clintonville, WI and Charlotte, NC, the family returned for Pam’s final two years of high school. Pam and Tom began dating during their junior year, became inseparable, and were united in marriage in Wausau on June 30th, 1973.
The first years of their married life were spent in Milwaukee, WI where beloved sons Christopher (Rosanna) of, Clermont, FL; Collin (Erin) of Atlanta, GA; and Jonathan (Claire Prieto) of Honolulu, HI were born. Pam took employment while in Milwaukee with Penfield Children’s Center, pursued undergraduate studies at Marquette University, obtained her teaching certification from the Midwest Montessori Institute, and later taught at New World Montessori School.
Beyond Tom and the boys, early childhood and Montessori education became Pam’s passion and purpose in life. The family moved to Two Rivers, WI in 1989 where Pam spent six years at Children’s House Montessori School before starting her own program in 1995. Ashling Montessori School was established in the Grace Church Parish House in Two Rivers. It later moved to a cottage located on the grounds of the former 4 Seasons Lawn Care in Manitowoc and eventually settled at 2005 Johnston Drive where it remained until Pam’s retirement in 2017. Pam took great pride in the school, enjoyed the many relationships she forged there, and found fulfillment in the vast achievements and success of her many lakeshore graduates.
Pam and Tom relocated to Howards Grove, WI in 2010 and later to Blue Ridge, GA to enjoy their retirement and form new friendships before moving to Manitowoc in 2021. Many former students and their parents took time over the years to stay in touch, stop by to say hello to “Miss Pam”, and exchange hugs during chance community encounters. Her impact on their hearts, minds, and lives as well as their impact on her will never be forgotten.
Pam is survived by Tom and their boys; a brother, Michael (Susan) McMillan of Apex, NC; grandsons Hunter and James of Atlanta, GA; as well as many loving sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Robert R. McMillan.
The Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home is assisting the family. A celebration of Pam’s life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family wishes to direct contributions to a community memorial to be established in honor of Pam’s legacy and the profound impact she had on the many lives she touched. More information on celebration planning and donation opportunity may be obtained online at: https://www.inmemoryofpam.com/
Grateful acknowledgement is offered to Dr. Andrew Yetter, the staff of the Vince Lombardi Cancer Clinic in Manitowoc, and the Aurora Medical Center of Manitowoc County for affording Pam the opportunity to be surrounded and served by angels during her time on earth.
