Patricia L. Haefke, age 67, a resident of Manitowoc, entered eternal life on Monday, February 6, 2017 at Aurora Medical Center in Two Rivers.
Pat was born on May 15, 1949 in Matawan, NJ to the late Clinton and Lillian Martin Heyer. She graduated from high school in Matawan, NJ and continued her education by graduating from Northern Michigan College with a degree in special education with the class of 1977. Pat had worked as a special education teacher for 35 years at Riverview School and Franklin Elementary School until her retirement. On October 2, 1982, Pat married David C. Haefke at Grace Episcopal Church in Sheboygan. Pat enjoyed spending time with her great nieces, shopping, travelling, and working at the Badger Carferry. She was a member of St. James Episcopal Church in Manitowoc.
Survivors include Pat's husband of 34 years, David Haefke, Manitowoc; two sisters, Bernice Heyer, Mukwonago, and Nancy (David) Torretta, Waterford; sister-in-law, Connie (Haefke) Sleger, Fort Atkinson; brother-in-law, Richard (Lynn) Haefke, Manitowoc; two nephews, Travis Sleger and Richard Haefke Jr., both of Manitowoc; niece, Tammy Sleger, Rockford, IL; four great nieces, Cadance, Marissa, Trinity and Rain; a special friend who Pat thought so very much of, Robin Bryant-Stoeger; also other relatives and friends. Pat was preceded in death by her parents, Clinton and Lillian Heyer; and her brother, Robert Heyer.
Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, February 10, 2017 at St. James Episcopal Church, 434 North 8th Street, Manitowoc. Rev. Diane Murray will officiate with burial of Pat's cremated remains at Evergreen Cemetery. Cremation has taken place at the Harrigan Parkside Crematory and Chapel. The family will greet relatives and friends at St. James Episcopal Church on Friday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the memorial service at 11 a.m. Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.harriganparksidefuneralhome.com
The Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home and Crematory, North 11th and St. Clair streets, Manitowoc is assisting the family with funeral arrangements.
