Patricia M. Vetting was born to Eternal Life on April 7, 2024, at age 84. Patricia was born on October 12, 1939, in Milwaukee to Riley and Florence (Dagelen) Conway. In 1961 she married W. Neal Niehausen. After 22 years of marriage, he passed away. Pat was blessed to find Jerome A. Vetting and they married in 1991. She attended Silver Lake College from 1984 to 1988 and obtained a degree in special education, specializing in learning disabled and emotionally disturbed children. She shared her talents in Door, Brown, and Manitowoc counties' school districts. After her retirement, she continued the love of her profession as a substitute teacher. In her spare time, she loved playing bridge with her friends, the Bridge Babes. She enjoyed going for drives, out to eat, and just sitting by the lake. Pat was seen often on her porch chatting with her neighbors. She especially loved hosting the holiday family parties.
Patricia is survived by her husband of 33 years, Jerome; children Colleen (Bruce) Riesterer, William Niehausen, Christy (Brian) Schmitz, Brad (Wendy) Vetting, Troy Vetting, and Stacie (Dale) Christel; grandchildren Angela (Andrew) Nguyen, Emma Lee (Robert) Leimbach, Jacob (Agnieszka) Riesterer, Darcy Dunn-Niehausen, Kathryn (Joshua) Berg, Neal Riesterer, Alexander Schmitz, Meghan (Jonathan) Chavez, Jon Vetting, Zachary Schmitz, Nick (Devyn) Vetting, Michael Schmitz, Kaylee (Dylan) Bishop, Maddie Vetting; great-grandchildren Louis, Alexandria, Ian, Mariah, Leia, Harold, Maria, Jay, Anthony, and baby Chavez due in June; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Wayne (Jean) Vetting, Larry Vetting, and Linda (Ed) Vetting. She was also loved by nieces, nephews, other family and friends. Pat was preceded in death by her first husband, parents, son-in-law Brian, sister Kathleen Talaga (of Louisville, KY), and brother-in-law Ed.
Cremation has occurred at Harrigan Parkside Crematory Chapel. The family will greet relatives and friends at St. Francis of Assisi on Waldo, 1121 North 14th Street, Manitowoc, on Friday, April 12, 2024 from 11:30 a.m. until 1:45 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be at 2:00 p.m. and celebrated by Rev. Doug LeCaptain. A luncheon will follow at the Harrigan Parkside Gathering Center at 620 N. Water St. A private burial will take place at St. Mary Catholic Cemetery in Clarks Mills.
