Patrick M. Franz, age 43, of 1218 Philippin Street, Manitowoc, entered eternal life on Thursday, December 11, 2014 at his residence due to health complications.

Pat was born July 8, 1971 in Manitowoc, WI. He was the son of Michael and Veronica "Chico" Szymczyk Franz. Pat was a graduate of Lincoln High School with the class of 1988. He then entered the United States Navy serving his country from 1988 to 1990. During his military service, Pat played the drums with the Navy Band at the Great Lakes Naval Base. After being honorably discharged Pat returned to Manitowoc. He became employed as a chef on the Alice E tug boat for three years and also was employed as a chef at local restaurants in Manitowoc. Pat was an avid golfer and Green Bay Packer football fan. He will be remembered for his intellectual curiosity, his love of music and caring personality and his wickedly funny sense of humor. Once a friend of Pats, you were always a friend of Pats.

He is survived by his best friend and companion: Ellen Kulas, Manitowoc, WI; his parents: Michael and Veronica "Chico" Franz, Manitowoc, WI; two brothers: Christopher Franz, Minneapolis, MN; Andrew Franz, Pekin, IL; Ellen's parents: Bart and Peg Kulas, Two Rivers, WI; aunts, uncles, other relatives and friends.

A Life Celebration Social will be held for family and friends on Saturday, December 20, 2014 from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. at the Harrigan Parkside Gathering Center, 620 North Water Street, Manitowoc, located on the south property of the Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home. Cremation has taken place at the Harrigan Parkside Crematory and Chapel with burial of the cremains at Calvary Cemetery in Manitowoc at a later date.
