Patrick J. Mealy, age 86, a resident of Manitowoc, passed away on Tuesday, March 15, 2022 at home.
Patrick was born on June 11, 1935 at home in LaCrosse to the late James and Agnes (Nelson) Mealy. He graduated from Logan High School in LaCrosse with the class of 1951 and went on to obtain his Bachelor's Degree in Speech and English, and later a Master's Degree in Counseling. Patrick's passion for teaching spanned K -12, Tech School and College in language, human relations, and counseling from 1970 to 2007. He became an Eagle Scout in 1951. Patrick was a longtime member of the Clipper City Chordsmen. He performed in the opening scenes of Jean Wolfmeyer's "Nutcracker" for 18 years. On December 1, 1962, Patrick married Kathryn Wage at St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Manitowoc.
Survivors include Patrick's wife of 60 years, Kate; son, Michael Mealy; daughter, Shannon (Dan) McCarthy; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Susan Wage, Dennis (Deborah) Wage, and David (Sandra Murzyn) Wage; also nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Patrick was preceded in death by his parents and four siblings.
In respect with Patrick's wishes, there will be no visitation or service. Cremation has taken place at the Harrigan Parkside Crematory and Chapel. Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.harriganparksidefuneralhome.com
Patrick's family would like to extend their thanks and appreciation to Heartland Hospice for all of the care and support they provided. Any memorials provided in Patrick's name will be used to benefit the Clipper City Chordsmen.
The Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home and Crematory, North 11 th and St. Clair streets, Manitowoc is assisting the family with arrangements.
