Paul J. Meyer, age 77, a resident of Brillion, and formerly of St. Nazianz, entered eternal life on Monday, August 26, 2024 at Garrow Villa in Brillion.
Paul was born on November 28, 1946 in Sheboygan to the late Isidore and Lorena (Schuler) Meyer. After graduating from St. Gregory High School in St. Nazianz, Paul served in the United States Army from November 1966 until his honorable discharge on October 24, 1968. On March 7, 1970, Paul married Kathryn "Toots" Casper at St. Gregory Catholic Church in St. Nazianz. She preceded him in death on February 1, 2012. Paul was employed at Tecumseh Products in New Holstein for over 40 years. He was a member of American Legion Post 477 for over 50 years. Paul was a volunteer firefighter for St. Nazianz Fire Department until retiring after 25 years of service. He enjoyed spending his time outdoors, hunting, fishing, riding ATVs with his brothers, and going to his cabin in Amberg. Above all, Paul enjoyed being with his family and friends.
Survivors include Paul's two sons, Curt (Sandra) Meyer, Manitowoc; and Todd (Cherie) Meyer, Huntsville, AL; two grandchildren, Ashley (Dakota) Marksman, Plymouth; and Hayden (Kendra) Meyer, Manitowoc; great granddaughter, Clara Meyer; two brothers, Donald (Sharron) Meyer and Charlie (Judy) Meyer; two sisters, Clementine Steinhardt and Virginia Freeze; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Donna Casper, Kathy Casper, Tom Casper and special friend, Ryan, Paul (Sue) Casper, Judy Peter, Jane Binversie, Mary (Dennis) Dedering, Ann (Greg) Behr, Ethel Meyer, Gloria Meyer, and Mary Ann Hellwig; also nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Paul was preceded in death by his parents, Isidore and Lorena Meyer; wife, Kathryn "Toots" Meyer; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Sylvester and Ruth Casper; six brothers, Victor Meyer, Harold Meyer, Norman (Rita) Meyer, Leonard (Margie) Meyer, Joseph Meyer, and Gilbert Meyer; four sisters, Delores (Robert) Boeckman, Theresa (Leroy) Waack, Dorothy (Ival) Grotegut, and Luella (Allen) Mahloch, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Earl Holschbach, Jack Steinhardt, Donald Casper, Wayne Casper, Kenneth (Betty) Casper, Dennis Peter, Rachel (Gary) Becker, Ronald Binversie, Rich Freeze, and Joseph Casper.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, September 3, 2024 at St. Gregory Catholic Church, 214 Church Street, St. Nazianz, WI 54232. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Josuva Arulanandu. Military honors will then be accorded by American Legion Post 477 at church. Cremation has taken place at the Harrigan Parkside Crematory and Chapel with entombment of Paul's cremated remains at Knollwood Mausoleum. The family will greet relatives and friends at St. Gregory Catholic Church on Tuesday, September 3, 2024 from 9 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. Online condolences may be sent to the family by visiting www.harriganparksidefuneralhome.com.

Paul's family would like to extend their thanks and appreciation to all of the staff at Garrow Villa, St. Croix Hospice, and the Manitowoc County Veterans Service Office. Also, special thanks to the Old Glory Honor Flight for their efforts in trying to get Paul on a flight.
The Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home and Crematory, North 11th and St. Clair streets, Manitowoc is assisting the family with funeral arrangements.
