Ralph E. Bennett's Obituary
Ralph E. Bennett, age 85, a resident of Two Rivers, entered into eternal life on Saturday, March 19, 2016 at St. Mary's Home at Felician Village.
Ralph was born June 15, 1930 in Chicago, IL to the late G. Martin and Darley McGee Bennett. He graduated from high school in Skokie, IL and concluded his education by attending Bethel College in St. Paul, MN and graduating from the University of Illinois at Urbana - Champaign where he obtained his Metallurgical Engineering Degree. On August 23, 1952, Ralph married Audrey Holstedt at Addison Street Baptist Church in Chicago. He was employed as an engineer at Manitowoc Engineering for over 40 years. Ralph enjoyed being outdoors, golfing, hiking, gardening, facilitating Bible study classes, and being with his family and friends – especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was a charter member of Faith Church in Manitowoc.
Survivors include Ralph's wife of 63 years: Audrey; daughter: Jan Bennett, Suffolk, VA; three grandchildren: Matthew (Emily) Bennett, Amanda (Paul) Lutz, and Kristin Bennett; seven great grandchildren: Anabelle, Elliot, and Oliver; Steven, William, Aiden, and Christopher; brother: Phillip (Alva) Bennett; sister: Virginia (Ben) Pent; daughter-in-law: Lynn Bennett; many relatives and friends. Ralph was preceded in death by his parents: G. Martin and Darley Bennett; son: Steven Bennett; brother: Robert Bennett; and great grandson: Jacob.
Memorial services will be held at 5 p.m. on Saturday, March 26, 2016 at Faith Church, 2201 South 42nd Street, Manitowoc. Pastor Jeremy Vance will officiate. The family will greet relatives and friends at the church on Saturday from 2:30 p.m. until the time of the memorial service at 5 p.m. Cremation has taken place at the Harrigan Parkside Crematory and Chapel. The Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home and Crematory, North 11th and St. Clair streets, Manitowoc is assisting the family with funeral arrangements.
