Randal J. Mrotek, age 63, a resident of Manitowoc, entered eternal life on Sunday, October 8, 2017 at Froedert Hospital in Wauwatosa.
Randy was born on December 4, 1953 in Manitowoc. He was the son of Joseph and Jeanette Pozorski Mrotek. Randy was a graduate of Lincoln High School with the class of 1972. He then became employed with Point Beach Nuclear Plant from where he retired in 2009 in maintenance. On May 24, 1974 he married Lori Sturm at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Manitowoc. Randy was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church. He was active with local bowling and volleyball leagues. Randy was a very sports minded person not only following local sporting events but also following the Green Bay Packers, Milwaukee Brewers, Milwaukee Bucks and the Wisconsin Badgers football and basketball teams. He was an avid gardener and also took pride in having an immaculate lawn. Randy was also well known for his homemade beef jerky that he shared with family and friends. He also enjoyed a good game of sheepshead. Randy was a very family orientated person and always generous to everyone and always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need.
He is survived by his wife of 43 years: Lori; three children: Melissa (Brian) Schild, Shorewood; Tanya Mrotek, Manitowoc; Michael (Misty) Mrotek, Howard; six grandchildren: David, Randal and Johnathan Mrotek; Kyra Blahnik; and Brinn and Brison Schild; his parents: Joseph and Jeanette Mrotek, Manitowoc; one brother: Richard Mrotek, Manitowoc; two sisters: Lynn (Pete) Rutherford, Francis Creek; Susan Mrotek, Menasha; nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, along with other relatives and many friends. He was preceded in death by his daughter: Michelle Mrotek; one sister: Linda Mrotek; maternal and paternal grandparents.
Memorial services will be held 10:30 a.m. Friday, October 13, 2017 at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church on Marshall, 1114 South 21st Street, Manitowoc. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Daniel Schuster. Relatives and friends may come to St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church on Marshall from 9 a.m. until the time of services at 10:30 a.m. Following the funeral services there will be a luncheon for family and friends at the Harrigan Parkside Gathering Center, 620 North Water Street, Manitowoc, located on the south property of the Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home. Cremation has taken place at the Harrigan Parkside Crematory and Chapel.
