Rena Lippert, 84, of Manitowoc passed away Friday, September 11, at the Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice in Sheboygan Falls. Rena suffered for many years with Alzheimers Dementia. She is no longer agitated, frightened or confused. She is at peace.

Rena was born in Marshfield Wisconsin to Elmer and Vivian Ullman, the oldest of her siblings. She lived and attended grade school in several places and graduated from Manitowoc Lincoln High School.

Rena was an active member in the Lakeshore United Methodist Church before her dementia diagnosis. She sang in the choir and played handbells. She also was a member of Hatrack Story Tellers and sang with the Civil War Singers. She had a passion for caring for God’s kids in her home daycare and did so for many years.

She is survived by her caregiver husband, Brian Butkiewicz, daughters Carrie (Bill) Berg, Summer Chambers, sons, Garry (Jane) Gates, Christopher (Denise) Wagner and Daniel (Lexi) Wagner, two step daughters, Mickie Butkiewicz and Maureen (Tony) Meehan, and half siblings John Paul and Mary Paul.

She is also survived by granddaughters, Rebecca (Lorenzo) Annis, Mariah Berg, Taylor (Trevor) McCulley, Alissa (Hunter) Sadler, Emma Wagner (Nicholas), Kate (Colton) Koss, Audrey Wagner, grandsons Brandon Mueller, Carson Gates, and great grandsons Braeden McCulley and Scott Sadler.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Elmer Ullman and Vivian Mae (Blum) (Ullman) Paul, her step-father Leroy Paul, her siblings Kathleen Bosi, Andree Erickson, and Larry Ullman.

As per her wishes cremation has occurred and there will be no funeral. There will be a celebration of life on Saturday, October 3rd, at the Lakeshore United Methodist Church Fellowship Hall, 411 Reed Ave, in Manitowoc, from two to four in the afternoon.

Any gifts may be directed in her name to the Manitowoc Humane Society or the Alzheimer’s Association.
