March 1, 1947 – January 17, 2025
Richard R. Carbon, age 77, a resident of Manitowoc, passed away on Friday, January 17, 2025 while surrounded by family.
Richard was born on March 1, 1947 in Manitowoc to the late John Sr. and Lucille (Hassmer) Carbon. He graduated from Lincoln High School with the class of 1965. On October 4, 1969, Richard married Janice May Zimmerman at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Manitowoc. She preceded him in death on May 16, 2021. Richard had worked at Montgomery Ward as a sales associate until it's closing, and then at Larson Chevrolet (later Dave Heather Chevrolet) until his retirement.
Survivors include Richard's two children, Carie (Mike) Boldt, Whitelaw; and Chad Carbon and his girlfriend, Anna, Stillwater, MN; four grandchildren, Aysha, Zach, Mason, and Xander; sister, Marjorie Brandl, Manitowoc; three sisters-in-law, Sandi (Butch) Schultz, Manitowoc; Diane Sorge, Three Lakes; and Doreen Carbon, Manitowoc; also nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Richard was preceded in death by his parents, John Sr. and Lucille Carbon; four brothers and two sisters-in-law, Roger (Rose) Carbon, Frederick Powers, Raymond (Judy) Carbon, and John "Jack" Carbon Jr.; four sisters and four brothers-in-law, Rose Marie (Ray) Cisler, June (Ted) Meyer, Caroline Tryjillo, Mary Carol (Richard) Haupt, and Elmer Brandl.
A Life Celebration Social for relatives and friends will be held from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Richard's birthday, March 1, 2025 at the Harrigan Parkside Gathering Center, 620 North Water Street, Manitowoc, located on the south property of the Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home. Cremation has taken place at the Harrigan Parkside Crematory and Chapel. Online condolences may be sent to the family by visiting www.harriganparksidefuneralhome.com

Richard's family would like to extend their thanks and appreciation to Dr. Andrew Yetter and his staff at the Vince Lombardi Cancer Center in Two Rivers. Also, thanks to the 2nd and 3rd floor staff at Aurora Medical Center in Two Rivers for all the care they provided.
The Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home and Crematory, North 11th and St. Clair streets, Manitowoc is assisting the family with arrangements.
