Richard J. Stanzel, age 92, of 4529 Oaktree Court, Manitowoc, entered eternal life on Wednesday, June 23, 2010 at the Hannah Home, Manitowoc, where he resided since Thursday.

Richard was born on May 4, 1918 in Manitowoc. He was the son of the late Frank and Theoflia Kowalsky Stanzel. Richard attended Lincoln High School. He owned and operated Precision Tool and Engineering, Inc. in Two Rivers from 1955 until 1995. On June 18, 1941 he married Ethel A. Luebke at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Manitowoc. She preceded him in death on April 5, 2008. Richard was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church. He was an avid fisherman, fishing in Wisconsin and Canada. Richard and his late wife Ethel built their cottage together in Townsend from the ground up. He was a devoted father and grandfather.

He is survived by three daughters and two sons-in-law: Diane Stanzel and very special friend, Tony Packowski, Manitowoc; Dawn and Wally Bednarski, Sheboygan, WI; Donna and Felix Ricco, Minnetonka, MN; six grandchildren: Rachelle (Chris Andersen) Nelson; Douglas (Karyn) Nelson; Lisa (Charles) Bagneski; Lori (Scott) Boesel; Cassandra Ricco; Jonathan Ricco; three great grandchildren: Keegan and Alec Andersen, Anna Boesel; nieces, nephews along with other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife: Ethel in 2008; 4 brothers and 3 sisters.

Private funeral services for the family will be held at Knollwood Mausoleum on Saturday, June 26, 2010 at 10:30 a.m. with Rev. Richard Klingeisen officiating. Entombment will follow at the mausoleum.

The Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home and Crematory, North 11th and St. Clair streets, Manitowoc, is assisting the family with funeral arrangements.
