Richard E. Tollefson, age 60, who resided at the North Ridge Medical and Rehabilitation Center, Manitowoc, entered eternal life on Tuesday afternoon, Oct. 26, 2010, at Holy Family Memorial Medical Center, Manitowoc.
Richard was born on March 24, 1950, in Green Bay, Wisconsin. He was the son of the late Roland and Dorothy Vassilew Tollefson. Richard attended the Manitowoc Public School system. He had been employed for over 30 years with Mirro Aluminum. He married Christine Carstens in 1991 at Immanuel Ev. Lutheran Church, Manitowoc. Richard did volunteer work at Holy Family Memorial Medical Center and Warrens Restaurant helping to distribute Thanksgiving meals. He was also a very avid Green Bay Packer fan.
He is survived by his wife: Christine; seven brothers and one sister: Jerry (Jennifer) Tollefson, Manitowoc, Donald (Sherrie) Tollefson, Manitowoc, Larry Tollefson, Manitowoc, Gary (Kathy) Tollefson, Manitowoc, Donna (Edward) Gauthier, Two Rivers, Daniel Tollefson, Denmark, David Tollefson, Racine, Roland (Jackie) Tollefson, Jr., of Washington; nieces, nephews along with other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister: Gloria Andrusak.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, Oct. 29, 2010, at 6 p.m. at the Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home. Officiating will be the Rev. Paul Schossow with burial of the cremains to take place at Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc. Relatives and friends may call at the Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home on Friday from 5 p.m. until the time of services at 6 p.m.
