Robert “Bob” L. Kautzer Sr., passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by his family, on April 26, 2026, at age 76. Bob was born on October 17, 1949, to his parents Helen (Kestell) and Edward Kautzer, in Sheboygan. Bob graduated from Kiel High School, Class of 1967. On May 30, 1969, he married Jean M. Muench at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Whitelaw. He grew up on a dairy farm and worked there until the farm was sold in 1973. Bob sold real estate at Pleuss Realty and then with his wife Jeanne owned Affairs to Remember Bridal Shop in Manitowoc for 25 years until he retired in 2010. Bob loved participating in sports until he wasn’t able to because of a disability. He loved spending time with family and friends, and all his family dogs. He enjoyed watching the Green Bay Packers and quick trips to Oneida. Bob looked forward to and enjoyed his winters in Florida, especially in his warm pool.
Bob is survived by his wife of 56 years, Jeanne; children Robert “Rob” R. (Char) Kautzer Jr. and Karry (Aaron) Mackie of Alabama; grandchildren Brooke (Scott) Bastian, Morgan (Sawyer Hungerford) Fricke, Kaila (Dalton Singleton) Mackie, and Hailey (Houston Hill) Mackie; great-grandchildren Sophia, Halyee, Cooper, and Tristan; siblings LoAnne Polster and Ronald (Lois) Kautzer; siblings-in-law Mary (Rick) Larson, Dave (Deb) Muench, Chuck (Mary) Muench, Jerry Muench, and Jim Muench; his canine companion Daisy Mae; as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents Edward and Helen Kautzer, parents-in-law Shorty and Mickey Muench, brother-in-law James Polster, nephew Mark Polster, and canine companion Mandy.
Visitation will be held at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 15 South County Road J, Clarks Mills, on Thursday, May 7, 2026, at 9:00 a.m. until 11:15 a.m. The Funeral Mass at 11:30 a.m. will be officiated by Rev. Richard Klingeisen. After Mass, all are invited to join the family for a luncheon in Bob’s honor at Seven Lakes, 1420 County Road S, Reedsville. Burial will be held at a later date at St. Michael’s Cemetery in Whitelaw.
The family wishes to extend special thanks to Aurora Medical Center in Two Rivers and Bristol Hospice for their compassionate care of Bob.
