Robert C. "Bob" Hollen, age 69, of 920 Lincoln Blvd., Manitowoc, entered eternal life on Sunday, December 1, 2013 at Aurora Medical Center, Two Rivers, WI.
Bob was born on April 8, 1944 in Manitowoc. He was the son of the late Clayton and Rose Schroeder Hollen. Bob was a graduate of Lincoln High School with the class of 1962. After high school he entered the Unites States Army and was stationed in Germany. After his honorable discharge he returned to Manitowoc and became employed as an electrician with Mirro Aluminum and later with Federal Mogul. Bob also worked with his son Rob at Robs Family Market for 10 years until poor health forced him to retire in April 2013. Bob enjoyed making grocery deliveries to family's homes, visiting with store patrons and taking care of anything that needed attention. On February 24, 1968 he married Sandra Grall at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Manitowoc.
Bob was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, proud member of the Ant Hill Mob motorcycle group, Citizens Police Academy. Bob and Sandy enjoyed being the campground host at Bagly Rapids Campground in Mountain, Wisconsin along with enjoying time spent at Christmas Mountain Resort at the Wisconsin Dells.
He is survived by his wife of 45 years: Sandy; three children: Robert "Rob" (Malinda) Hollen II, Manitowoc, WI; Jason Hollen of Manitowoc, WI; Lori Rose Hollen-Carter and her domestic partner Christina Morey of Milwaukie, Oregon; one grandson: Jonas Clayton Carter; one brother: Stanley (Patricia) Hollen, Manitowoc, WI; two sisters-in-law: Sandy Hollen, Manitowoc, WI; Christine Grall, Manitowoc, WI; two brothers-in-law: Lee Haucke, Two Rivers, WI; Michael (Cindy) Grall, Santa Cruz, CA; along with other relatives and special friends. He was preceded in death by his parents: Clayton and Rose Hollen; one son in infancy: James; one sister: Joanie Haucke; one brother: Stewart Hollen.
Memorial services will be held 12:00 o'clock noon Saturday, December 7, 2013 at the Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home followed by military rites accorded by the Amvets Post #99 also at the funeral home. Officiating will be Rev. Dave Beaudry. Cremation will have taken place at the Harrigan Parkside Crematory and Chapel. Relatives and friends may call at the Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services at 12:00 o'clock noon. Following the military rites there will be a luncheon provided for family and friends at the Harrigan Parkside Gathering Center located on the south property of the funeral home.
