Robert J. Orth, age 82, a resident of Manitowoc, entered eternal life on Sunday morning, June 28, 2026 at the Aurora BayCare Medical Center in Green Bay.
Bob was born on March 28, 1944 in Manitowoc. He was the son of the late Herbert and Grace Panosh Orth. Bob attended Lincoln High School and graduated with the class of 1962. He was employed with Kelvinator Company for 29 years prior to the company closing in Manitowoc in 1991. Bob then became employed for the next five years with the Kohler Company retiring in 1998. On November 24, 1977, Thanksgiving Day, Bob married Mary Freund in Manitowoc. She preceded him in death on September 29, 2024. Bob was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church. He enjoyed camping out at Devils River Campground near Maribel. Bob was the captain of the former Holy Innocents Rockets Dartball Team for 40 years. Sheepshead was a card game enjoyed for many years with family and friends. Bob also was an avid Green Bay Packer football fan.
He is survived by four daughters, Suzanne (Tedd) Doucette, Hickory, North Carolina, Lisa Dickey, Cashiers, North Carolina, Lynn (Sal) Maita, Tampa, Florida, and Melissa (George) Owen, Seffner, Florida; three brothers, Gary Orth, Dick (Mary) Orth, and Jan (Nancy) Orth all of Manitowoc; two sisters, Peggy Thor, Manitowoc, and Nancy (Wayne) Doney, St. Francis; 16 grandchildren, Rachel Doucette, Leah Mayl, Rebecca Botero, Hannah Mills, Hope Stemen, Ben Doucette, Ashley Dickey, Kevin Dickey, Joshua Diliberto, Anthony Diliberto, Jessica Willis, David Owen, Malinda Owen, Sara Owen, Ellie Murphy, Micah Owen; 15 great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, along with other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Herbert and Grace Orth, wife, Mary, one grandson, Matthew Owen, sister-in-law, Nancy Orth and brother-in-law, Michael Thor.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. on Thursday, July 9, 2026 at the Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home with Deacon Alan Boeldt officiating. Relatives and friends may call at the Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home on Thursday, July 9th, from 9 a.m. until the time of services at 11 a.m. Following the funeral service a luncheon will be held at the Harrigan Parkside Gathering Center located on the south property of the funeral home. Burial will take place next to his wife Mary at Evergreen Cemetery in Manitowoc.
The family would like to express their appreciation to the Aurora BayCare Medical Center emergency department and the Intensive Care Unit doctors and staff. Bob greatly enjoyed his time at the Devils River Campground with his camping group consisting of Sandy Schleis, Pete and Lynn Schmidt, Rob and Kelly Engblade, and Randy and Jenie Orth.
