Rodney P. Kaminski, age 75, a resident of Manitowoc, entered eternal life with family by his side on Tuesday, September 1, 2026 at Aurora Medical Center in Two Rivers.
Rod was born on April 23, 1951 in Manitowoc to the late Eugene and Esther (Barbarossa) Kaminski. He graduated from Lincoln High School with the class of 1969 and UW Green Bay in 1975. On October 25, 1975, Rod married Lynne Von Wald at Holy Innocents Catholic Church in Manitowoc. He took over the Quarry Bar when his father passed away in 1978, and renamed it The Big Apple Pub and Grill. Rod was the first in the county to put in a lighted dance floor in 1975. After that, he added two sand volleyball courts, which he eventually enclosed and then made into Sports Court. Rod then went on to add a kitchen and dining room. Through his business, many of his customers became his friends. Rod was a member of the Tavern League of WI and of Manitowoc. He was an avid Brewer and Packer fan. Rod enjoyed traveling with family and visiting family out west. Rod was a wonderful husband, father, brother, uncle, bumpa, cousin, and true friend to so many.
