Roger M. Schaaf, age 68, a Manitowoc resident, passed away Monday, November 6, 2023.
He was born October 1, 1955 to the late Milton and Esther Schaaf. Roger attended Lincoln High School, Manitowoc, graduating with the class of 1974. He was a skilled mechanic and successful business owner. He started his trucking business in 1980 and operated it until his retirement in 2015. Roger loved hauling cross country until 1988 when he hauled shoreline rock locally until his retirement. He loved snowmobiling, four-wheeling, and motorcycling – anything fun and risky. In his retirement, Roger discovered "Van Life" traveling again throughout the country. His most recent passion was pickleball, which he played almost daily.
Roger is survived by his son Zachary, two sisters: Peggy (Bob) Henke and Judy (Jim) Ballard, two brothers: Paul and John, two nephews, two nieces, three great-nephews, three great-nieces, and many other relatives around the country. He is further survived by many great friends and business associates: in particular Donald "Ducky" and Barb Welnetz, Bob Leist, Dan Schreiner, and Mary Carpenter. Along with his parents, Roger was preceded in death by a nephew: Michael Schaaf.

Roger was truly a great human being who would give you the shirt off his back if asked. He never turned anyone down who needed his help. He is going to be greatly missed.
