Roland "Rollie" C. Hibbard, age 78, resident of St. Cloud, passed away on Tuesday, December 27, 2011 at St. Agnes Hospital in Fond du Lac.
Rollie was born on January 22, 1933 in Manitowoc to the late Jerome and Lillian Schweigl Hibbard. After completing his education in the Manitowoc Public Schools, he enlisted in the United States Air Force and served his country in Korea from 1950 until his honorable discharge in 1954. On April 11, 1954, Rollie married Donna L. Sabin in Richmond, Indiana. Donna preceded him in death on October 29, 2002. Rollie worked as a sheet metal journeyman for Sheet Metal Workers Local Union #18 for 40 years until he retired in 1995. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, Indy car racing, NASCAR, and building model trains and airplanes
Survivors include four children: Sharon (Steve) Boelhouwer, Beverly Hills, CA; Michael Hibbard, St. Cloud; Susan (Bud) Dewane, Oostburg, and Jeffery Hibbard and his significant other, Donna Posen, Green Bay; six grandchildren: Becky, Bob, Matt, Sara, Corey, and Ali; three great grandchildren: Tess, Emma, Leah; four brothers: Robert Hibbard, Plymouth; LeRoy Hibbard, Richard Hibbard, and Rodney (Nancy) Hibbard, all of Manitowoc; two sisters: L. Frances Hibbard and Carole Reeseburg, both of Manitowoc; widowed wife of David Hibbard: Chris Hill, Whitelaw; also nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Rollie was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Donna; and three sons: David, James, and Gerald Hibbard.
The family will greet relatives and friends at the Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home on Friday, December 30, 2011 from 4 pm until the time of the memorial service at 5 pm. Deacon Paul Kieffer will officiate with burial to follow at Knollwood Memorial Gardens at a later date.
The Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home & Crematory, N. 11th and St. Clair streets, Manitowoc is assisting the family with funeral arrangements.
