Obituary

Ronal L. Kaminski, 74, of Manitowoc passed away peacefully on January 16, 2022, relaxing in his favorite recliner.

Ron was born on August 23, 1947 in Manitowoc to Daniel and Gladys Kaminski and graduated from Manitowoc Lincoln High School in 1965. In 1966 he married Christine "Sally" Powalish. Together they had three children: Chris, Timm, and Rhonda, and celebrated 55 years of marriage.

Throughout his life, Ron logged more than one million miles driving truck. He retired in 2006 after 15 years of driving bus for Maritime Metro Transit. Ron had a passion for anything with wheels and was known to frequently come home with a new "toy" to fill the garage. He enjoyed watching all kinds of motor sports, and especially enjoyed his "Boys Weekends" at the Indy 500 and watching his sons and grandchildren race go karts at Elkart Lake. Affectionately referred to as "Rockin'" by his family, he always lived life his way, for the here and now.

Underneath his pitbull exterior, Ron's love for his family and friends ran deep. Along with being a husband and father, Ron was the proud grandfather to his 7 grandchildren: Brittany, Costner, Morgan, Devin, Madison, Kayleigh, and Matthew.

Ron is survived by his three children: Chris (Angela Walker) Kaminski, Timm (Allyn) Kaminski, and Rhonda (Mark) Zahn; his grandchildren: Brittany and Devin Zahn; Costner, Morgan, and Madison Kaminski; and Kayleigh and Matthew Kaminski; his sister, Carol Kaminski; his dog, Sassy; and many nieces, nephews, and in-laws. He was preceded in death by his parents, Daniel and Gladys Kaminski; his father in law, John Powalish; his mother in law, Irene Powalish; his sister, Sharon Clark; his brother, Wayne Kaminski; and most recently, his wife, Sally, who passed just two months ago.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, February 5, 2022 from 12 pm to 3 pm at the Harrigan Parkside Gathering Center, 620 North Water Street, Manitowoc, located on the south property of the Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home from 12 pm to 3 pm.  A special prayer service will begin at 2:30 pm led by Deacon Mark Knipp. A light buffet will be provided during the Celebration; the family invites guests to stay and celebrate with them, remembering Ron and sharing his stories that always ended with his favorite bit of advice: "Let that be a lesson to you."
