Ronald L. Haensgen, 82, of Shoto, entered eternal life on Friday, September 4, 2026, at home with his loving family at his side.
Ron was born on February 14, 1944, in Milwaukee, WI, to Clemens and Dorothy (Reiter) Haensgen. After graduating from South Division High School in Milwaukee in January 1962, he entered the US Air Force on his 18th birthday, serving from 1962 to 1966. During that time, he served time overseas in Scotland and Pakistan, assigned to the USAF Security Service.
On May 3, 1980, Ronnie married the former Ann Holly in Manitowoc. They celebrated 46 years together this year. He worked at Northwestern Mutual Life Insurance Company in Milwaukee in the IT field, retiring in August 2002 after 35 years with the company. He was the 2nd Shift Computer Operations Manager for over 22 years.
In his youth, Ron enjoyed hunting and fishing with his family. Through the years, he cherished time with his sons, whenever he had the opportunity, and most recently with his grandson Cooper. Ronnie and Annie enjoyed traveling, using their TimeShare exchanges, and trips to the casino. Ron was a member of the St. Francis of Assisi Parish, and the Lakeshore Snowmobile Club, of which he had dedicated much of his time to the monthly newsletter, the annual sponsorship campaign, and the Adopt-A-Highway cleanups.
Ron is survived by his wife Ann; three sons Michael of West Allis, Mark of Oak Creek, and Steven (Holly) of Manitowoc; one granddaughter Samantha (Shane Kessenich) of Palm Coast, Florida; one grandson Cooper of Manitowoc, with another grandson expected in October; one sister Joanne (Florian) Zalewski of Fond du Lac; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Mary Haensgen of Belvidere, IL, Dale (Carol) Holly of Shoto, Robert Holly of Hartford, Joan (Bruce)Smith of Manitowoc, James (Virginia) Holly of Shoto, John Holly of Mishicot; and many loved nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Melford, mother-in-law and father-in-law Marie and Donald Holly, niece Diane Haensgen, and nephew Scott Haensgen.
Visitation will be held at St. Francis of Assisi on Grand, 1416 Grand Ave., Manitowoc, on Saturday, September 12, 2026, at 9:00 a.m until 11:45 a.m. Funeral Mass will be at 12:00 noon, officiated by Rev. Nicholas Stellpflug. Military honors will take place after Mass. A luncheon will then be held at Harrigan Parkside Gathering Center, 620 N. Water St., Manitowoc.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Ron's honor to Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice or to Roncalli Catholic Schools.
