Somsack Sam Daophachanh, 71, passed away peacefully on Saturday June 3, 2023 at his home in Two Rivers, Wisconsin after a short illness.
Somsack was born on October 8, 1951 in Houayxay Bokeo Province, Laos to Nangchen and Maida Daophachanh. After graduating from high school, he took an opportunity to join the Laotian Army where he spent several years serving his country. During that time, Somsack married his first wife, Pa. They raised three children until she passed away in 1980. He then married Chansaeng and fled to the United States where they raised their two daughters and sponsored his remaining three children that were still in Laos to the United States.
Somsack was a hard-working family man. For over 20 years, he worked full time at Federal Mogul Powertrain Systems as a machine assembler until his retirement in 2017. In his spare time, Somsack enjoyed carpentry, and taking opportunities to go fishing and travelling. He was very sociable and made friends easily. Somsack had the kindest and most caring heart as a husband, father and grandfather. He loved being around all his grandchildren, which in turn held his strong spirit up until his passing. Dad, we will miss you dearly and please watch over us in heaven.
Sam is survived by his wife Chansaeng with 2 children 1) Deeda Xiong, married to Peter Xiong, they have 2 children: Payton and Devon. 2) Vickie Daopachanh with daughter Bella. Sam previous marriage to Pa with 3 children. 3) Bounphet and Khan Tai with 2 sons Jonathan and Justin. 4) Phai Tai with one son Kristopher Sivong and 2 daughters from Ron, Adrienna Tai, and Genevieve Tai. 5) Ngeun Tai, married to Mala Tai they have 2 children: Manin and Nyla.
Sam is also survived by his 4 siblings Mai Phun, Bouakeo, La and Singkham.
Services will be held on the afternoon of Friday, Jun 9, 2023 beginning at Noon at the Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home. Cremation will follow at the Harrigan Parkside Crematory and Chapel. Online condolences may be sent to the family by visiting www.harriganparksidefuneralhome.com
