Obituary

Sandra "Sandy" A. Moffatt, age 75, a Manitowoc resident, passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 8, 2023 at Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice, Sheboygan Falls, surrounded by her loving family.

She was born March 1, 1948 in Manitowoc, daughter of the late Edward E. Shimek and Agnes M. (Rappel) Shimek. Sandy attended Lincoln High School, Manitowoc, graduating with the class of 1966. She was employed at Manitowoc Ice for 37 years, as well as Big Apple Bagel and H&R Block. Sandy was a member of the Manitowoc Senior Center, where she enjoyed exercising every Tuesday. She enjoyed walking, exercising, and doing yard work. Above all, Sandy was a people person who loved her family and friends. She will be remembered for her outgoing personality and heart of gold. Sandy was a loving and caring person who would go out of her way to help anyone in need.

Sandy is survived by her son: Eric Moffatt, West Bend; two grandchildren: Anthony Joseph and Ryan Leonard, Arizona; three siblings: Judy Rank, Manitowoc, Joyce Rank, Plymouth, and Ron Shimek, Manitowoc; her son-in-law: Bruce Leonard, Arizona; a niece who was like a daughter to her: Kim Rank; two nephews: Corey Rank and Chris Rank and their families as well as other relatives and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her daughter: Julie (Moffatt) Leonard; brother-in-law: Terrance Rank; the father of her children: Bruce Moffatt; and other relatives and friends.

The family will greet relatives and friends from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 14, 2023 at Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home, 628 North Water Street, Manitowoc, Wisconsin. A service of remembrance will occur at 12:00 p.m. Noon. Following the service, a reception will be held at the Harrigan Parkside Gathering Center, located on the southside property of the Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home. Sandy will be laid to rest at Knollwood Memorial Gardens, Town of Kossuth, at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the family for a donation of their choice.
