Scott W. Funk, age 77, of Manitowoc, Wisconsin, passed away Friday, September 13, 2024 at his home with his wife by his side. He was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in May of 2024.
Scott was born December 28, 1946 in Pittsburgh, PA to Maurice and Bethel (Brown) Funk. He served in the United States Air Force from 1966 to 1970. He was honorably discharged as a Sergeant on April 13, 1970. He then worked in the IT field for many years. His career took him to many cities in the U.S. and was assigned to a paper mill in Escanaba, Michigan where he met his wife, Susan (Brown) Funk in 1984. They have one child, Kyle.
Most of Scott's career was in IT, but he also spent time driving a semi-truck over the road. He semi-retired in 2008 and continued to drive a semi seasonally for Magregor Transportation, Manitowoc, Wisconsin until age 72 when he fully retired.
Scott is survived by his wife: Susan, his son: Kyle (significant other Brianne), his brother: Bob (Stacey), sister-in-law: Lynn Moore, nephew: Ian (Kayleen) Moore, niece: Lauren (Zachary) Bishop, and mother-in-law: Carol Brown. Other half nieces also survive.
Scott was preceded in death by his father: Maurice, mother: Bethel, father-in-law: Lloyd Brown, brother-in-law: David Moore, half-sister: Bethel Jackson, and half-brother: Dale Bierer.
Cremation has occurred at the Harrigan Parkside Crematory, Manitowoc, and a private family celebration of life will be held at a later date.
