Obituary

Shirley M. Daley, age 85, a resident of Green Bay, entered eternal life on Saturday, December 9, 2023 at Jack and Engrid Meng Unity Hospice in Ledgeview.

Shirley was born on March 31, 1938 in Manitowoc.  She was the daughter of the late Francis and Josephine Brixius Powalisz.  Shirley attended Lincoln High School and graduated with the class of 1956.  She continued her education at the Manitowoc Teachers College for the following two years.  She had been employed at the Herald Times Reporter, Green Bay Press Gazette, and as a secretary for Paper Converting Machine Company for 15 years from where she retired on May 9, 2001.  Shirley had been a member of St. Willebrord Catholic Church in Green Bay. She enjoyed knitting, reading, and walking her dog Murphy.

She is survived by one son, Jeffrey (Tori) Daley, Prior Lake, MN, two daughters, Lynn Daley and her significant other, Roosevelt Perkins, Orange, CA, and Susan (Steve) Adamski, DePere; four grandchildren, Megan (Drew) Herzon, Nicholle Daley, Alex Moran, Olivia Moran; one brother, Gerald "Jerry" (Donna) Powalisz, Manitowoc; two nephews, John (Lori) Powalisz and Michael (Amy) Powalisz; one niece, Mary (John) Breivogel; along with other relatives and friends.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Francis and Josephine Powalisz.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. on Saturday, December 16, 2023 at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church on Marshall, 1114 South 21st Street, Manitowoc.  The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Jason Blahnik with burial to follow at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery in Manitowoc.  Relatives and friends may call at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church on Marshall on Saturday, December 16, 2023 from 10 a.m. until the time of services at 11 a.m.  A luncheon will be held at the Harrigan Parkside Gathering Center, 620 North Water Street, Manitowoc, located on the south property of the Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home, 628 North Water Street, Manitowoc.
