(Retired) Wayne Felix Kiel
August 2, 1932 – November 6, 2023
Staff Sergeant (Retired) Wayne Felix Kiel, age 91, a resident of Chilton, entered eternal life late Monday evening, November 6, 2023 at the Century Ridge Assisted Living facility in Chilton.
Wayne was born on August 2, 1932 in Casco. He was the son of the late Alvin Fred and Barbara Ella (Vesser) Kiel and the late stepmother Mary F. (Zaborowski) Kiel. Wayne had been employed at Mirro Aluminum for 36 years followed by 15 years of employment at the Kohler Company from where he retired. Wayne served his country in the United States Army National Guard 32nd Division for 31 years along with two years with the United States Army Reserves. Wayne was honorably discharged achieving the rank of Staff Sergeant. On November 27, 1976 at 2:10 P.M. he married Barbara "Bobbie" Fruzyna at St. Paul's Catholic Church in Manitowoc. She preceded him in death on August 18, 2022. Wayne enjoyed gardening, fishing, puzzles, word finds, skiing, coin collecting, bowling, golfing, and serving the Lord as a Lay Minister.
He is survived by his son, William (Jennifer) Kiel, Chilton, daughter, Angela (Donald) Duescher, Two Rivers, two grandchildren, several brothers, a special niece, Ann Cyr, Two Rivers along with other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Alvin and Barbara Kiel, stepmother, Mary Kiel, wife, Barbara "Bobbie" Kiel, son, Scott Kiel, grandson, Matthew Erickson, and several other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. on Monday, November 13, 2023 at the Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home with Deacon Alan Boeldt officiating. Relatives and friends may call at the Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home on Monday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services at 11 a.m. Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery in Manitowoc with military honors accorded by the American Legion Drews-Bleser Post #88. Following the military honors at the cemetery a luncheon will be held for relatives and friends at the Harrigan Parkside Gathering Center located on the south property of the funeral home.
