Stanley A.
Junk
June 5, 1942 – June 5, 2024
Stanley A. Junk, a lifelong Manitowoc resident, passed away peacefully on his 82nd birthday on Wednesday, June 5, 2024, at the Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice in Sheboygan Falls.
Stan was born June 5, 1942 in Sheboygan, son of the late Albert and Florence (Noworatzky) Junk. He attended Sacred Heart Seminary in Oneida from 1956-1961. He then served 4 years in the United States Air Force. Stan married Mary Kay Delchambre at St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Institute, WI on April 18, 1964 and recently celebrated 60 years of marriage. Stanley was employed as a letter carrier with the United States Postal Service for 35 years until his retirement in December of 2000. Stan had a love for Honda Goldwings and the many cars he owned over the years. He was a meticulous polisher and detailer and his vehicles always were the shiniest around. Stan could never turn down a good brat or ice cream and loved to go for bicycle rides, exploring the county and visiting people on his electric bicycle. Above all, Stan deeply and unconditionally loved his wife, family and grandchildren. He was the most fun grandpa - always putting a smile on their faces with his goofy antics and never needing an excuse to get ice cream with them.
Stan is survived by his wife: Mary Kay Junk, Manitowoc; daughter: Kay Lynn (Jim) Larson, Manitowoc; son: Christopher Junk (Jillian Moncarz), Wilmington, Delaware; six grandchildren: Karah Larson, Krysta Larson, Joey (Therese) Larson, Eva Junk, Noa Junk, Lev Junk; and great grand baby Beekie due to arrive November 1; six siblings: Diane (Roger) Lothrop, Allan (Darlene) Junk, Clare (Bob) Schuette, Jane (Greg) Schuette, Lynn (Bill) Sweetman, Paul (Chamaine) Junk; three sisters-in-law: Doris (Rodney) Ash, Carol (Robbie) Kurtz, Sharon (Bob) Haen; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive. He is preceded in death by his parents: Albert and Florence Junk; infant daughter: Michelle Marie Junk; father and mother-in-law: Joseph and Cecelia Delchambre; and a brother: Wayne Junk.
Cremation has taken place at the Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home and Crematory. A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, June 16, 2024, at Silver Creek Park, 3001 S. 10th Street, Manitowoc from 11:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. This will be an informal gathering to reminisce about Stan and have a brat in his honor.
