Stanley H.
Krogstad
November 13, 1914 – February 28, 2011
Stanley was born November 13, 1914 in Elk Horn, Iowa. He was the son of the late Edwin and Lenora Petersen Krogstad. Stanley was a graduate of Elk Horn High School with the class of 1933. He served with the United States Army overseas during World War II in Germany and France. After being honorably discharged he became employed in Omaha, Nebraska for several years. Stanley then reenlisted entering the United States Air Force where he was stationed in Fairbanks, Alaska. Once honorably discharged from the Air Force he came to Manitowoc and was employed with Safe Way Coach Company for 18 years. Stanley then became employed as a security guard at the Foley Company until he retired in 1987. On November 7, 1964 he married Mary Kirkpatrick in Manitowoc, Wisconsin. Stanley enjoyed playing his trumpet and while in the military he was the staff bugler.
He is survived by his wife of 46 years: Mary; 1 brother: Pete Krogstad, Council Bluffs, Iowa; nieces, nephews along with other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers and 1 sister.
Private graveside services for the family will be held on 1:30 pm Friday, March 4, 2011 at Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc.
The Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home and Crematory, North 11th and St. Clair streets, Manitowoc, is assisting the family with funeral arrangements.
